I am really looking forward to Spring! Only a few more weeks…

The Apple Store on 5th Avenue brings out my inner geek. It’s just so pretty. In the short week I’ve been in NY, I’ve gone there twice… I went there last night as my laptop has been making a very annoying high pitched noise. Unfortunately they needed to keep it so posting the next few days will be lighter. Sorry! I’ll get back to normal as soon as I get it back.
*Update: the laptop is fixed! Hooray! Apple, you are the best.

Have you seen Catfish? The DVD recently came out and it is seriously trippy. Not in a horror film kind of way but definitely creepy and thought provoking. It definitely deserves a second viewing. It’s a documentary filmed by Ariel ‘Rel’ Shulman and Henry Joost that follows Rel’s brother Yaniv ‘Nev’ Schulman for nine months. Really it is best if you don’t know much about it beforehand. Just watch it and let me know what you think!
Here’s the trailer.
Hello from New York! I arrived pretty late last night and now I need to find an apartment! What are you up to this weekend? Here are this week’s Friday Five! Have a great President’s Day weekend!

I really, really want this dress (it would be adorable with a cardigan…) and I NEED this trench. Yes, I definitely need it in my life. Okay, “need” may be a bit of a strong term. It may or may not mean really, really, really want.

I find these images from the series Disastro Ecologico by Alberto Seveso absolutely stunning. I love the dynamic colors and the fluid movement. The way the light shapes the smooth yet sometimes fibrous folds is ethereal and dreamy. I can’t stop looking at these beautiful photographs!
BTW, you can download the full series as desktop wallpapers. For free!

The time has come to announce that I am… moving to New York City…. on Thursday! For a few months I’ve been contemplating what I want for my life, mainly about goals and what I’d like to accomplish. I mentioned that a little bit at the beginning of the year. I knew that something needed to change. To be honest, I was bored. Things were fine but that was just it, fine. I needed more. There is no better time to course correct than the present! Since this year’s mantra is to “Be Fearless” I thought it was high time that I made a decision and I’m going with it. I had planned to move in the Spring but a wonderful opportunity has come up and so with a week’s notice, I’m moving… in just a few days. I think it’s probably better that way. “Rip the band-aid” mentality and all that. It’s a little scary and I will miss my family, friends, and dogs terribly (they belong to my mom so sadly can’t come with me) but mainly I’m very excited. I can’t wait to share my experiences with all of you. New York is such an amazing place and I’m looking forward to being able to call it “my city.” BTW, I will have some posts scheduled so don’t think I’ve forgotten about you. Anyway, I better get packing. Wish me luck!
xoxo,
Britt
